Revive a Sunnah

In the name of Allah

Revive a Sunnah: "Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good…”

Hasan al-Basree (rahimahuAllah) said about the Dua’a:

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ 

Rabbana atina fid dunya hasana wa fil akhirati hasana wa qina athab an-nar.

"Our Lord! Give us in this world that which is good and in the Hereafter that which is good, and save us from the torment of the Fire!" [al-Baqarah 2:201]

“Give us in this world that which is good” means give us beneficial knowledge and worship.

“and in the Hereafter that which is good” means Jannah.

Ibn al-Qayyim said, “This is from the best of Tafseers (explanations) of this Aayah”
